Position Overview:
Multimatic Indiana - Butler is looking for a Weld Technician (3rd shift: 10pm-6:00am) who will be responsible for performing assignments requiring judgment and problem-solving skills relating to the MIG welding process. The Weld Technician will assist with setup and changeovers as they relate to MIG welding.
Duties:
- Adopt a specific group of cells and focus on all aspects of welding robustness for the assigned area
- Teach robots points for optimum MIG-weld robustness
- Adjust weld fixtures to control end product dimensions and as well as MIG-weld gap/robustness
- Develop preventative maintenance procedures related to weld fixtures and weld guns
- Improve process robustness, up-time and cycle time by researching and improving weld consumables
- Maintain shim adjustment logs for assigned area
- Document and improve welding parameters
- Provide input in evaluation of equipment and processes
- Understand incoming part quality and its effect on MIG-weld/dimensional robustness
- Perform other functions as required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
