Senior MP&L Manager
Location: Multimatic Niche Vehicles Europe, Coventry , United Kingdom
As part of the Senior Management Team, the Senior MP&L Manager will have full responsibility for managing the end to end supply chain of this business. We are looking to recruit a Senior MP&L Manager who has proven experience of managing all aspects including; production planning, capacity, material control, inventory management, developing supply chain strategies and Continuous Improvement within a volume manufacturing business.
Materials Planning is defined as: Schedules and forecasts the right volumes of materials, goods and products inbound to the business from its supply chain companies, ensuring stock levels are maintained and controlled.
Logistics is defined as: Move materials, goods and products (including importing and exporting) to ensure that they are in the right place to meet customer demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure MP&L teams are communicating schedules/releases/forecasts to suppliers per company processes, with correct lead times communicated with suppliers.
- Review and improve processes for overall MP&L activity to support methods and policies ensuring most efficient and economical movement of all materials in and out of the plant.
- Lead annual cost reductions, MP&L contributes annually in cost reductions related to freight, packaging and indirect spend.
- Accountable for material inventory, related cost and accuracy of material documents.
- Ensure regular stock checks take place.
- Advise other department managers of any potential problems, concerns and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance to all Health & Safety rules and housekeeping principals. Ensure substandard conditions and practices identified in monthly plant safety audits are corrected.
- Analyse and evaluate inventory and delivery problems and recommends solutions.
- Maintain the confidentiality of the company and its business.
- Keep informed of the latest changes to Customs Procedures and regulations.
- Establish strategy and best practices for staff to ensure achievement of overall business objectives. Work with the senior management team to translate strategy into specific annual performance goals and departmental objectives. including KPIs, and track them.
- Complete regular performance reviews, manage attendance, holidays, disciplinary issues and procedures as appropriate.
- Track material costs for inventory levels, budget and new programs.
- Create and generate internal management reports to track performance and costs related to, inventory, transportation, cost savings, production and sales.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Industrial Operations, Supply Chain Management or Warehouse Management is beneficial.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Strategic Thinking, Innovative or Creative Thinking, Knowledge of business Environment, Concern for Accuracy and Details
- Extensive hands on experience with Materials or Purchasing in a manufacturing environment in automotive or similar to the automotive industry.
- Good knowledge of Government legislation in the areas of Health & Safety, Labour Relations, Employment Standards, Human Rights, Pay Equity, etc.
- Good working knowledge of Purchasing and MRP systems.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees both within the organization and with, customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, engineers, etc.
- Experienced in understanding complex Bill of Material (BOM)
- Strong knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office
