Key Responsibilities

  •  maintain accurate timesheets
  • follow all ISO 9001 procedures
  • oversee the maintenance job book/job folder
  • provide CAD tech support to all department employees
  • consider alternative solutions for given tasks or problems
  • ensure adequate communication with other program team members
  • attend meetings as required
  • attend all required training courses
  • participate in MAMT’s continuous improvement activities
  • foster good employee relations
  • keep manager informed of all program issues
  • interact with different team members to develop (high volume) manufacturable components with an eye for product improvement and potential build issues
  • ensure that the customer’s requirements, which include project timing, part quality, and delivery, are understood and met
  • assign tasks to co-workers
  • provide training, guidance, and assistance to co-workers as required
  • plan, and facilitate the building of tooling, with input from Prototype Manager and other team members.
  • schedule and assign resources for projects
  • enforce all company safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • ensure the shop environment is kept safe, clean, and organized to enable timely and safe manufacturing techniques
  • communicate project, personnel, and other details to Prototype Manager
  • perform all other duties as determined by the General Manager or his designate

 Key Relationships

Program Managers                   -  provides project drawings and materials

                                                      -  relay information concerning project timing, quality, and design concerns

Toolmaker/Apprentice/Machinists         -  performs assigned tasks

                                                                         -  train apprentices as required

Quality Assurance Technician   -  review critical characteristics

                                                           -  ensures quality of product

Basic Requirements:

  • knowledge of translation techniques of all CAD data to Cadkey
  • knowledge of Mastercam surfacing and cutter path generation
  • knowledge of CadKey using 3-d wireframe techniques
  • ability to supervise and delegate work
  • excellent problem-solving skills
  • ability to plan, organize, and schedule multiple component projects
  • must have solid background in GD&T
  • successful completion of tow motor course
  • must be familiar with ISO 9001 procedures

  • proficiency in Mastercam and Cadkey
  • quality components delivered on time to customer
  • harmonious relations with other employees
  • timely tooling production
  • communication with team members, and Prototype Managers
  • effectiveness of training provided to Apprentices
