Sliding Head CNC Programmer - Setter - Operator - Turning

We are looking for a CNC Sliding Head Turner to join our world class Machine Shop. You will program, set and run Citizen Sliding Head Multi Axis L32 Lathes. Using all types of alloys, stainless steel, mild steel and titanium you will be required to machine small batches of components to support the research and development of automotive assemblies, while maintaining standards of accuracy and finish. Experienced in all aspects of programming, setting and operation of Citizen or Star Sliding Head Lathes with  experience including materials and finishing processes of manufactured components.

Using CNC Sliding Head Lathes using Fanuc and Fanuc based programming you will be responsible for writing programs, setting including 1st off verification before quality control inspection and running the machines to produce precision components from engineering drawings. Planning, coordinating tooling purchase to support each part and ensure gauges are requested if required.

  1. Produce precision components to Engineering drawings to ensure all tolerances of the components are meet. (Materials include aluminium, steel, stainless steel, titanium, plastics.)
  2. Logging and cataloguing of the CNC programs through in house software database.
  3. Optimizing production techniques to increase efficiency
  4. Follow all manufacturing procedures to complete the required parts
  5. Ensuring a detailed handover between night and day shift.
  6. Able to work with minimum supervision.
  7. Participate in Machine shop meetings and relay any production issues to the Production Team.
  8. Manufacture parts to drawings using CNC machine tools.
  9. Identify Material and Tooling requirements to manufacture parts
  10. Participate in resource planning activities
  11. Complete process cards with the necessary information required for quality, material traceability and resource planning purposes.
  12. Liaise with Quality Control department to ensure the highest possible standards.
  13. Set and operate machines in a safe manner.
  14. Use safety equipment such as machine guards where necessary.
  15. Perform basic daily maintenance to machines e.g., cleaning, lubrication etc.
  16. Maintain the work area in a tidy condition free from hazards.
  17. Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management systems (e.g., TS 16949, ISO 90012014).
  18. Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
