Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager
Reports To: General Manager
Shift: First
SUMMARY
To provide supervision and communication services to Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality Departments to assure that products are manufactured utilizing current procedures to insure that design intent is met. Meet goals to achieve the company’s commitment of superior part quality and reliability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as the plant Customer contact/representative. Is the alternate QMT/EMR for the facility.
Provide leadership to assure effective communication, coordination, and interaction with Manufacturing, engineering and Quality
Evaluate and implement, as required, technology compatible to the company needs
Evaluate control plans from concept phase through final approval, to insure it is with “world class” manufacturing procedures to assure first time approval with superior part quality.
Organize and direct interaction of all affected company areas, to provide ongoing communication within the company to assure timely involvement, review and action to address all problems.
Review prints and specifications to insure quality and reliability requirements are addressed. Track engineering changes through the system.
Provide Quality personnel with assistance and training to insure acceptable quality performance
As required, train quality and manufacturing personnel on use of new and existing equipment
Provide assistance as needed in performing capability studies and process potential studies.
Create and maintain files of all parts and blue prints, keep records to show that the latest engineering level is used.
Provide direct communication link with company management and coordinate all departments for quality problem resolutions
Review all safety and critical characteristics to insure that proper tests are being performed and results are recorded
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises employees in the Quality Department including Quality Engineers, Quality Technician and Weld Analyzers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent and Bachelors Degree from a four year college or university in a technical field, or six years manufacturing quality experience. With 2 years additional experience in a Quality Supervisor or managerial position for an automotive supplier in the metal processing field is required. Qualifications to include technical, analytical and judgmental knowledge of current quality control methods employed by engineering and manufacturing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near machinery and moving parts. The employee may be exposed to the risk of electromagnetic fields, risk of electric shock and vibration. The employee will be required to travel and stay overnight on occasion.
