Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions (MDS) is one of the newest of Multimatic’s North American divisions. It is a supplier of suspension parts and welded assemblies to the automotive industry, manufacturing front and rear lower control arms, links, stabilizer bars and various welded assemblies in a modern 240,000-square foot facility.
Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions is looking for a Press Operator who will report to the Production Manager and be responsible for running efficient, quality stamped parts on a 1600-ton Transfer Press and maintaining a safe, clean working environment to the best of his/her ability.
Operate a 1600-ton transfer press and a blank-loaded feeder
Operate an overhead crane for tool changes and blank loading
Perform complete die changes
Carry out quality control inspections on all stamped parts produced as per quality control inspection instructions
Record all findings of inspections on inspection records
Record steel tags and lot numbers on inspection records form
Tag each container with a bar-code label with Part No. Lot No. Quantity
Complete production reports and last-off reports
Drive forklift truck when needed
Separate line accumulation defects (between vendor and/or press shop defects). Tag as per DMN procedure
Change lot code numbers (daily when needed)
Ensure press, feeder and working areas are kept clean, tidy and safe at all times
Work in a safe manner and observe plant safety rules and regulations at all times
Maintain due diligence in regard to environmental matters; minimize any potentially harmful accidents and work in compliance with ISO14001. Follow environmental guidelines for aspects outlined in the job training requirements
Able to work on shift rotation.

Education and/or Experience:
2-year minimum as a Transfer Press Operator
Basic computer knowledge
Able to program new tooling parameters into Gudel feeding equipment
Knowledge of RS view logic screens
Able to operate servo-type rail system
Able to organize and program sensors and wires
Able to run other transfer presses
SPC Level 1
Must hold tow motor certificate
Basic training of overhead crane operations
