Lead Verification and Validation Engineer

Multimatic is a global automotive company providing hardware and engineering services to OEMs around the world. Its newly formed electronics division, Multimatic Electronic Systems (MES), will meet the growing needs of our automotive customers in electronics hardware and software control. Combining our new products with Multimatic’s existing expertise in suspension systems, vehicle dynamics, mechanisms and mechatronics will enable us to go to market with complete active suspension, active aero and powered door products to our customers in the future.
We are seeking a Lead Verification and Validation Engineer to join our team and support development of a growing range of control products for the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be joining Multimatic Electronic Systems at a very exciting time as the division embarks on multiple projects. We need someone who will embrace our culture – finding ways to say “yes” and delivering excellent solutions for our customers.
Facility Address: Milton Hall, Ely Road, Milton, Cambridge, CB24 6WZ (with frequent travel to our Thetford site as required)
Lead the creation, review and approval of test plans and specifications for the V&V of the electronic systems
Lead a team of V&V engineers to perform the verification and validation of developed electronic solutions for assigned projects
Understand software strategies and electronic hardware integration to enable testing of the ECU in various test setups, including simulation, bench, test rigs/ fixtures (Mechanical hardware in loop) and vehicle
Lead the integration of systems containing electronic, mechanical and software sub-systems with understanding of the potential impact on the whole vehicle and interfacing systems
Define test setups and environments needed to perform the V&V activities
Define the specifications for the V&V test rigs
Maintain existing V&V tool chains
Identify and develop new testing capabilities, as required
Work closely with the project and engineering teams to support them in ensuring customer deliverables are achieved through planned test activities
Report on a technical level and manage an open issues list to ensure corrective actions are completed
Experience
Experience of defining system test approaches incorporating software, electronics and mechanics in accordance with standards like ASPICE, ISO26262 or similar
Experience in working with CAN tools such as Vector CANape and CANoe
Ideally have experience in working with NI tool chain, LABVIEW, MATLAB, Simulink and C language
Experience in building SW tools that facilitate testing – scripts, regression testing etc
Experience in the specification, design, building and validation of Production EOL rigs or similar
Experience in working with electrical/electronic systems
Experience of planning and executing tests from requirements (core and derived)
High attention to detail and excellent communication skills
