Company Summary:

Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions (MDS) is one of the newest of Multimatic’s North American divisions. It is a supplier of suspension parts and welded assemblies to the automotive industry, manufacturing front and rear lower control arms, links, stabilizer bars and various welded assemblies in a modern 240,000 square foot facility.

Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions is looking for a CNC Technician that will be responsible for developing, writing, and editing CNC programs in an effort to ensure smooth production runs and to support the production teams. Candidates must be willing to work the night shift.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Edit production CNC programs as required.
  • Develop and write CNC programs as required.
  • Setup, adjust, and troubleshoot CNC machines to ensure that parts are produced according to quality requirements.
  • Develop solutions to CNC production issues as required.
  • Analyze out of tolerance conditions and make adjustments via tool offsets.
  • Provide support to production in order to ensure a smooth production run (i.e. setup tool changes, problem solving).
  • Coordinate with the engineering, maintenance, production, quality, and toolroom departments to work on sample parts and continuous improvement projects as required.
  • Perform tool life changes as required.
  • Train and assist new CNC technicians on safe machine operation, fixture load and unload procedures, insert changes, operator preventive maintenance, and minor offset adjustments.
  • Ensure that all set-ups and repairs are done in a manner that will minimize downtime and ensure that scrap and tooling costs are met.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, tidy and organized work area.
  • Maintain documentation associated with the process (i.e. tool life forms and preventative maintenance documentation and schedules).
  • Responsible for performing all electrical and mechanical repairs to CNC machinery and auxiliary assembly equipment associated with the manufacturing process.
  • Responsible for completing CNC machine and assembly line preventative maintenance activities as scheduled.
  • Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement on the production facilities. 

Education and Experience:

  • Post secondary diploma or certificate from a college or university in CNC programming.
  • Completion of an appropriate blend of education and experience, equaling a minimum of 3 years.
  • Knowledge of metal cutting and machining process.
  • Advances knowledge of machining and proven experience in prototyping and blue print reading.
  • Knowledge and use of meteorology, measuring equipment, SPC, and safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem solving techniques.
