OVERVIEW:
Located in Markham, Ontario, Canada, Multimatic Technical Centre (MTC) is part of Multimatic’s Engineering Group. MTC provides advanced design, simulation, testing and prototyping services to Multimatic’s production divisions and to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s), niche vehicle manufacturers, motorsports organizations, military equipment contractors and consumer products companies.
MTC houses key engineering, testing and development capabilities under one roof, enabling rapid turnaround and tight integration between departments (vehicle systems engineering, production engineering, predictive methods, product testing and validation, composites, fabrication and prototyping). Additional specialized services utilize MTC’s full-vehicle multi-post test rig, and a proprietary vehicle dynamics simulator. These services are further enhanced by the capabilities of a fully equipped motorsports department.
The Analysis Department at MTC is currently seeking a CFD Engineer. Note that this position is not remote based; the candidate needs to work onsite at our Markham location.
MTC is looking for an exceptional CFD engineer who is passionate about automotive aerodynamics and motivated to shape the design of road and motorsport vehicles. Day-to-day activities include developing digital geometries, running CFD simulations, collaborating with design and engineering teams, and supporting occasional wind tunnel tests. In our team, you are empowered to propose and develop ideas that will improve vehicle performance as well as our design process. Specific duties and responsibilities include the following:
Prepare CFD simulations to assess aerodynamic performance of proposed geometry
Identify and develop creative solutions to address aerodynamic/styling/engineering objectives
Interpret analysis and test results and propose recommendations for further improvements
Summarize findings in formal reports and present to cross-functional teams and management
Assist the development of internal fluid systems, such as dampers and hydraulic systems
Compare CFD-based predictions to measured data. Investigate and implement modelling modifications to improve correlation
Design parts, prepare for, and conduct, scale and full-size wind tunnel tests
Develop and improve our CFD process, including scripting and automatization
Attend conferences and training courses, including documentation/presentation of significant knowledge and information learned
Participate in MTC’s continuous improvement activities
