Responsible for using and developing internal procedures to perform the following
Prepare bar code labels for shipments-Customer only
Process material receipts according to procedures
Filing & distribution of all shipping paperwork
Maintaining customer / carrier / supplier contact list
Manage service expendable packaging inventory levels / re-ordering
Setting up new part numbers in ERP system
Logistics portion
Will work with our vendors, carriers, and materials analyst to enhance our freight utilization. Minimize our freight costs and control our inventory levels.
Position will be responsible for optimizing all loads inbound and outbound and finding best priced carrier.
Position will be responsible for securing annual freight contracts as needed.
Monitor Multimatic and supplier owned returnable containers as well as Multimatic expandable containers to contain shipping costs.
Manage outside warehouse & outside processor movements to ensure parts are on time to Multimatic and or outside processor
Will work with our vendors, carriers, and materials analyst to enhance our freight utilization. Minimize our freight costs and control our inventory levels.
Responsible for managing freight schedules to support on time delivery for purchased materials from supply base
Creating pickup’s in customer portals
Communicating cancellations to shipping staff
Follow up on late pick up’s w/ customers & carriers
Alternate weekend coverage with shipping supervisor for weekend customer & outside processor shipments
Pull/review releases
Firm following day’s shipments
Cancel/add shipments as needed with the customer
Back up for Shipping Supervisor for hourly shipping associates
Create daily schedules to support shipping requirements
Schedule coverage for absenteeism, vacations, ect…
Schedule OT as needed to support shipping requirements
Maintain positive teamwork environment for department
Day to day responsibilities for all key functions of department including but not limited to:
Creating customer paperwork
Firming up trucks within ERP system
Updating customer requirements within ERP system
Managing shipping releases to outside processors (suppliers who are shipping direct to our customer)
Associates Degree in related field or equivalent experience, with a minimum of three years’ experience in materials working in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Good computer skills. Ability to use Microsoft Office software.
Ability to assume responsibility and corresponding authority and accountability. Results oriented.
Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
