We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team and support our employees at our facilities in Concord, Ontario.
Employee relations - Provide intake and assessment advice to the HR Manager regarding employee issues and their impact on performance. Determine root causes of issues and recommend appropriate resolution
Full-cycle recruitment - creating, posting, and managing job postings, screening and interviewing candidates, and conducting reference checks.
Performance review process - Issue, track, and file performance reviews, corrective actions, policy sign-offs and other documents
HRIS & documentation management - ensure all documentation is complete and track status changes in the HRIS system for new hires, transfers, wage changes, terminations, etc.
Disability management - Assist with STD, LTD, and accommodation programs
Group health and retirement savings plan administration - includes submission of documents, fielding questions, and coordinating the annual open enrolment
Compliance training - Track training requirements and facilitate sessions as needed including during onboarding and other (i.e. WHMIS, Worker Health & Safety Awareness, etc.)
Employee surveys - Support and participate in the execution of the program
Injury reporting - Assist with the tracking and reporting to ensure timely completion of accident and incident reports and submission to the WSIB or other
Employee communications - includes bulletin boards, content management system, monthly employee meetings, and othert
Employee support - Resolve issues that may arise in keeping with Company Policy and all regulations (e.g. the Employment Standards Act and the Human Rights Code)
Health & safety support - Liaise with the Health and Safety Coordinator or others to schedule and ensure record keeping of regular Health and Safety committee meetings
Audit & investigation support - assist with scheduled and ad hoc safety audits, inspections, or investigations
Liaise with Kaizen teams, trainers, external consultants, cross divisional Kaizen co-ordinations as required
Adopt and practice Kaizen principles and concepts including GEAR program activities
Track all submissions for the GEAR program and enter them into the appropriate database in a timely manner
Manage the Company’s merchandise programs and inventory
Follow all Company policies, procedures, guidelines, and adopted standards
Work in compliance and conform to standards and policies
Perform other duties as required
Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience in a similar role
Degree in Human Resources Management, a related field, or equivalent experience
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organization skills
Ability to coach employees at all levels and effectively resolve issues using judgment consistent with the organization's preferences and priorities
Effective presentation and interpersonal skills
Ability to establish credibility and be decisive
Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
CHRP Designation or working towards one is an asset.
