Multimatic Mfg. uses flexible production systems that allow rapid product changeovers, helping drive manufacturing efficiency.
Multimatic Mfg. is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk who will assist in the Accounting Department. * This position is a one year contract*. The Accounts Payable Clerk will maintain an accurate, timely, and reliable process around payments and related recordkeeping.
Key Responsibilities and Authorities:
Responsible for processing invoices with and without receiving.
Responsible for filing packing slips from receiving department.
Responsible for matching packing slips to their respective invoices.
Responsible for processing expense reports.
Responsible for tracking invoices over $100 relating to facilities (non-production A/P).
Responsible for tracking invoice price variances in a bi-weekly Excel spread sheet report (production A/P).
Responsible for tracking manual invoice quantity variances in a weekly Excel spread sheet report (production A/P).
Responsible for e-mailing variance reports to appropriate persons.
Responsible for processing wire-transfer invoices and cheques.
Responsible for printing cheques.
Responsible for manual cheques (when necessary).
Responsible for printing and filing pre-cheque registers after each cheque run.
Responsible for printing and filing final cheque registers after each month end.
Responsible for filing and maintaining processed cheques.
Responsible for maintaining a clean monthly receiving and aging report by investigating any unmatched receipts or unpaid invoices.
Responsible for the accrual of non-production invoices not received in SAP at month end.
Responsible for A/P related journal entries.
Responsible for petty cash backup.
Responsible for postage meter maintenance.
Responsible for annual archiving of all files.
Responsible for cross training within A/P department for backup.
Responsible for reception relief coverage.
Work in compliance with the provisions of OHSA and related regulations.
Use or wear the safety equipment & protective devices/clothing as required by Multimatic.
Adopt and practice Kaizen Principles and Concepts and GEAR activities.
Perform other duties as required.
Work in compliance with and conform to IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards.
Basic Requirements and Competencies:
Grade 12 diploma.
Minimum two years accounting experience, preferably in an office environment using menu driven accounting software/ERP system.
SAP experience is an asset.
Superior computer skills.
Ability to handle large volume of paperwork/invoicing and manage/meet multiple deadlines.
Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees in the organization.
Computer literacy and an excellent knowledge of MS Office, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural environment.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Proficiency with various financial and business software.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
