Scope of Position:

Assist Controller in increasing company profitability by studying and improving the systems which track and report financial data, and by creating, studying and improving the systems that drive, interpret and analyze management information systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating month end and year end activities, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Responsible for preparation of monthly financial statements, assists in preparation of financial budget and projections
  • Assists in liaison with Department Managers and the General Manager with financial and operational information
  • Display equity, leadership and training (directly or through courses) to build an effective team
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure integrity and timeliness of financial information
  • Responsible for Fixed Asset reporting
  • Daily monitoring of cash, AR and AP 
  • Assists with the coordination of divisional O.S.
  • Responsible for the financial administration of suppliers
  • Assists with the development of annual business planning
  • Responsible for preparing government statistical reports,
  • Support and encourage KAIZEN principles, concepts and activities,
  • Submits training needs to HR as determined from departmental needs and employee evaluations,
  • Ensure that all personnel are working in a safe and efficient manner,
  • Perform other duties as required (i.e. special projects).

Basic Requirements:

  • 4th- 5th Level CGA, or within 2 years of completion of a CMA designation
  • Three to four years accounting experience, of which two years is in a project driven
  • Engineering environment with exposure to direct costing in an MRP environment
  • Computer literacy and an excellent knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees  in a multicultural environment, good written and oral communication skills
