Scope of Position:

This growth was achieved as a result of the skill and dedication of the employees.  MAMT is an industry leading engineering development center that relies on its highly talented staff, following the company’s established systems and best practices, to maintain its position.  It is important, in this dynamic environment, that everyone keep abreast of leading-edge technologies and techniques relating generally to MAMT’s core competencies and specifically to the assigned job function. In order for MAMT to continue to lead the industry, it is critical that the highest quality prototypes be delivered in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design and build tooling with input from Lead Hand, Prototype Manager and Project Leaders
  • Interact with Design Engineers/Project Leaders/Apprentices to develop manufactural components with an eye for product improvement and potential build issues
  • Ensure that the customer’s requirements, which include project timing, part quality and delivery are understood and met
  • Consider alternative solutions for given tasks or problems
  • Maintain job folder/electronic data and ensure proper job closure
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Be responsible for all parameters of assigned tasks
  • Ensure the shop environment is kept safe, clean and organized to enable timely and safe manufacturing techniques
  • Review project direction with Project Leader
  • Keep supervisor informed of all program issues
  • Assign tasks to co-workers as per direction of supervisor
  • Provide training, guidance and assistance to co-workers as required
  • Ensure adequate communication with other program team members
  • Maintain accurate timesheets and ensure they are completed on time
  • Follow all documented quality procedures
  • Observe all company safety rules, policies and procedures
  • Attend all required training courses
  • Document/present information obtained from conferences and training courses as required
  • Participate in MAMT’s continuous improvement activities
  • Foster good employee relations
  • Perform all other duties as determined by the General Manager or his designate

Basic Requirements:

  • Passing mark on Tool and Die Maker Certification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Experience on manual machinery. I.e., lathes mills, grinders, brake press.
  • Strong knowledge of part fabrication and prototyping
  • Ability to delegate work
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard Windows applications
  • Successful completion of Lift Truck Safety Course and Crane Operation and Safety Training
  • Must be familiar with MAMT’s Quality System procedures
