We are currently recruiting for a number of Composite Technicians to join our team producing high quality parts for motorsport and the premium automotive industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established International Composites company, with the role being able to offer variety as well as career and development opportunities.
Working in a team environment you will work on a range of parts. You will need to read and understand lay-up drawings and use your laminating skills to carry out the required workload to the lay-up specification. You will also need to utilise your skills to query any error or change that you may observe on any job.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle composite materials and follow established safety procedures.
Hand laminate composite components to specifications provided by project engineers.
Prepare components for autoclave cure utilising vacuum bagging practices.
Prepare tooling patterns and moulds using chemical sealers and release systems.
Fabricate moulds from supplied patterns
Follow build manuals and quality control processes
Consult and resolve quality issues as they arise, in consultation with project engineers
Accuracy with record keeping
Ability to prioritise own workload in line with time constraints
Basic Requirements:
Ability to interpret basic instruction via detailed drawings / instructions.
Good verbal & written communication skills.
Ability to keep calm under pressure.
Be able to work in a team as well as solo.
An eye for detail and pride in making things by hand
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Flexible schedule to accommodate shift work if required.
Desirables:
An understanding of engineering drawings
Comfortable using common hand and power tools
Previous composite laminating experience is an asset, but specific training will be provided as required
Basic understanding of composite component construction is an asset.
We work in an ever-changing environment with demanding customers, safety critical structural products and complex composite components, so we need a Composite Technician who is flexible, reliable, hardworking and who is heavily motivated by achieving high standards in composite manufacturing.
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Working hours: 8-hour shifts, either 7.00am – 3.30pm or 4.00pm – 12.30am
