Assembly Assistant Supervisor / Lead Hand (night shift)

Position Overview:

The Multimatic Mechanisms Group manufactures high-quality closure hardware systems for all vehicle applications. With facilities in North America and Europe, and representation in all major markets, the Multimatic Mechanisms Group is a world-class, full-service supplier of stamped, profile, cast, and forged hinge systems for all applications including door, hood, trunk, liftgate/decklid, and sliding doors, as well as closure-checking, -assist and power devices.

Multimatic Anton Mfg. is seeking an Assembly Assitant Supervisor / Lead hand who will help maintain our assembly equipment on night shift. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for providing production departments with safe, well maintained equipment, while ensuring quality and the ability to meet production requirements in a timely manner.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for scheduling operators to the lines for the shift.
  • Responsible for ordering operator supplies.
  • Meets with previous/next shift to discuss operating issues.
  • Responsible for housekeeping.
  • Responsible for Start of shift procedures.
  • Responsible for First‑Off’s.
  • Responsible for issuance of work orders for maint/repair of facilities.
  • Responsible for current job aids.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times.
  • Support and encourage KAIZEN activities.
  • Solicit GEAR activities from staff to meet corporate goals.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews for department personnel minimum annually.
  • Submits training needs to HR as determined from departmental needs and employee evaluations.
  • Adopt and practice Kaizen Principles and Concepts.
  • Participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
  • Follow all general procedures where applicable as indicated in the General Procedures section of the Level III Procedure manual.
  • Follow all Departmental General Procedures as well as procedures for this position as indicated in the level III Procedure manual.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work in compliance and conform to IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards.
  • Will ensure that all individuals within their department work in compliance and conform to IATF16949 and ISO14001.

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 Experience in assembly work:
  • Experience operating an assembly line
  • Good knowledge of Government legislation in the areas of Health and Safety
  • Familiar with SAP system in auto manufacturing environment would be an asset.
  • Familiar with IATF16949, ISO14001 requirements
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English

Desirables:

  • Previous automotive assembly experience
