Position:

Multimatic Technical Centre ("MTC"), located in Markham, Ontario is a division of Multimatic Inc. MTC has a comprehensive development team supporting Multimatic’s manufacturing divisions while also providing contracted engineering services to a variety of customers. The facility has design, analysis, testing, prototype, composites, and motorsports departments.

MTC has experienced tremendous growth since its inception. This growth was achieved through the skill and dedication of our employees. MTC has an industry-leading prototype/production tooling center that relies on its highly talented and skilled staff.

Our prototype development center is seeking a Tool and Die Maker who will be responsible for helping develop production tooling. The candidate must have a good work ethic and a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact with Design Engineers/Project Leaders/Apprentices to develop (high volume) Production tools with an eye for product improvement and potential build issues
  • Ensure that the customer requirements -- which include project timing, part quality and delivery -- are understood and met
  • Consider alternative solutions for given tasks or problems
  • Maintain job folder/electronic data and ensure proper job closure
  • Be responsible for all parameters of assigned tasks
  • Ensure the shop environment is kept safe, clean and organized to enable timely and safe manufacturing techniques
  • Keep supervisor informed of any program issues
  • Maintain accurate timesheets and ensure they are completed on time
  • Observe all company safety rules, policies and procedures
  • Attend all required training courses
  • Foster good employee relations

Basic Requirements:

  • Passing mark on Tool and Die Maker Certification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Ability to delegate work
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Successful completion of Lift Truck Safety Course and Crane Operation and Safety Training
  • Must be able to work well with others.
