Position Overview:

Multimatic Manufacturing is the original production facility of Multimatic Inc. and is a leading supplier of hinges, door checks and innovative user-convenience products (such as Multimatic’s StepGate™ or BoxSideStep™) to the North American automotive industry. Multimatic Mfg. uses flexible production systems that allow rapid product changeovers, helping drive manufacturing efficiency.

Multimatic Mfg. is looking for an  Industrial Millwrights (Day Shift) who can help maintain the equipment used within the division. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for providing all departments with safe, well maintained equipment, while ensuring quality and the ability to meet production requirements in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  1. Performs duties of millwright as required including the repair and troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems and tools.
  2. Provides trouble-shooting assistance to other maintenance personnel with regard to electrical, PLC programming or other maintenance related needs as required, modifying a line program and die wiring.
  3. Completion of necessary paperwork including work orders/time sheets/log board entries/line book revisions as required in a timely manner.
  4. Assisting in the implementation of continuous improvement suggestions on the production line.
  5. Filling out parts used form No.PU021.
  6. Performing routing preventive maintenance as required.
  7. Maintaining a clean tidy and organized work area.
  8. Participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
  9. Work in compliance and conform to all established standards.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field.
  2. Must be a licensed Millwright, Industrial Mechanic or equivalent.
  3. Extensive experience with Pneumatic, Hydraulic, and mechanical systems and tools.
  4. PLC Programming and troubleshooting an asset.
  5. Machine Shop and MIG/TIG Welding experience an asset.
  6. Electrical trouble shooting capabilities required.
  7. Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural environment.
  8. Ability to read, write and speak English.
