Advanced Program Manager
Location: Multimatic Ride Dynamics, Newmarket, Ontario, Canada
Position Overview:
Multimatic Ride Dynamics (MRD) is one of the newest of Multimatic’s North American divisions. Multimatic Ride Dynamics is looking for a Advanced Program Manager who will improve the profitability and competitiveness of the company by ensuring the timeliness and continuous improvement of current and future programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Responsible for all aspects of program management for specific programs. This includes prototypes, pre-production samples, production start-up, customer launch, and monitoring the overall program throughout production.
- Coordinate all engineering changes for assigned programs.
- Assist in resolving quality concerns as required.
- Keep communication lines open between the various departments. This includes the engineering, production, quality, and toolroom departments. This will also involve communication with associates at other Multimatic Divisions, as necessary.
- Keep management informed of the status of assigned programs on a regular basis. Inform management of any critical items on an immediate basis.
- Act as liaison between customer and company.
- Ensure that customer contact is maintained through visits to customer facility as required.
- Be involved and provide technical support on assigned product launches both within the company and at the customer.
- Lead cost saving activities for all customer specific programs. Investigate, analyse, and present cost saving proposals to management and then to the customer.
- Ensure that all correspondence pertaining to projects are tracked and distributed accordingly.
- Ensure process and manufacturing feasibility studies are complete for products to meet customer and engineering specifications.
- Prepare internal quotes for new and existing programs and all engineering changes. Submit for review and approvals, prepare customer breakdowns, and review for completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of quotes. Work with purchasing in procuring quotes for current and future cost saving proposals.
- Establish program-timing parameters and ensure that schedules are maintained.
- Assist in the procuring and sourcing of equipment and tooling for new programs. Assist the process, quality, and tooling engineers to ensure that equipment and tooling complies with the company and customer specifications, standards and expectations.
- Participate in VAVE workshops prior to product launch. Assist in the establishment of measurement indicators for cost improvements and efficiencies, etc.
- Support in customer specific quote reviews for all quotes that are to be submitted.
- Support and maintain a standard with customer submissions.
- As required, support program managers in specific customer discussions to keep consistency in communication.
- Present an image (to the customer) of total company commitment.
- Investigate and keep abreast of new state of the art technologies, which may enhance the profitability of the company.
- Maintain the confidentiality of the company and its business.
- Ensure a high standard of business ethics is maintained.
- Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Department Manager.
- Abide by all company safety rules, responsibilities, policies, and procedures including the legislative requirements of the OHSA.
- Work in compliance and conform to the Environment and ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.
- Adopt and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
Education and Experience:
- Completion of a college diploma or university degree in mechanical engineering.
- 5 years of experience in either engineering or tooling.
- Experience in tool and die is an asset.
- Automotive background an asset.
- Thorough understanding of APQP processes and core tools.
- Previous training in the following areas: CAD, GD&T, FMEA, and SPC.
- Knowledge of the assembly, weld, tool room and press shop equipment.
- Familiar with company and customer quality systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications (i.e. Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
- Excellent problem solving ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be willing to travel on a regular basis as required by the company and customer.
