The Position

We are looking for individuals to fill the role of Tool and Die MakerThe successful candidates will be part of a skilled team responsible for maintaining and repairing the tools and dies in an automotive parts manufacturing facility.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on production tooling
  • Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement suggestions on the production line
  • Complete documentation such as work orders/time sheets/log board entries/line book revisions
  • Order parts and follows the parts-received procedure
  • Trouble shoot and repair dies in press
  • Review and complete tool service reports
  • Review tooling at the end of a production run and determine die status
  • Work in compliance and conform to all policies and standards
  • Promote health and safety and ensure good housekeeping at all times
  • Adopt and support KAIZEN activities
  • Ensure all work is in compliance with certifications and standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

  • Certified Tool & Die Maker (completion of apprenticeship and achieved Certificate)
  • Completion of college diploma or certificate is preferred
  • Experience working on progressive and transfer dies
  • Previous experience working with 400T to 1,600T presses is an asset
  • Experience with building new tooling, blueprint reading, tool welding, and machining is an asset
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural environment
  • Ability to read, write and speak English 
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing requirements
  • Comfortable working in a high-paced environment and with standing for extended periods
  • Ability to handle heavy loads
