Assembly Supervisor

The Position

We are looking for a Assembly Supervisor to join our Company. Reporting to the Assembly Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising Assembly Department team members to ensure successful production and delivery of parts as per customer requirements. 

 

Key Responsibilities

    • Lead shift meetings and communicate regularly with team members
    • Schedule team members to ensure production needs are met including scheduling of overtime
    • Follow and ensure compliance with health and safety policies and regulations 
    • Ensure training is provided to all new operators and other ongoing training is delivered as needed
    • Identify and submit training needs to HR or other support team members
    • Monitor and set up material rework per established procedures
    • Issue work orders for facility or equipment maintenance and repair
    • Maintain inventory of shop supplies and issue requisitions as needed 
    • Promote health and safety and ensure good housekeeping at all times
    • Adopt and support KAIZEN activities including soliciting continuous improvement activities as part of the company's GEAR activities
    • Ensure all work is in compliance with certifications and standards
    • Conduct regular employee performance reviews
    • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing facility (automotive industry is preferred)
  • 2-4 years of supervisory experience as a Team Lead, Lead Hand, or other similar
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing requirements
  • Familiarity with MRP systems in an automotive manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural organization
  • Must be able to work Night Shift.
