Purchasing/Quality Administrator

Position Overview:

Multimatic Ride Dynamics (MRD) is one of the newest of Multimatic’s North American divisions. Multimatic Ride Dynamics is looking for a Purchasing/Quality Administrator who will provide support to the Purchasing and Quality Departments at Ride Dynamics.

Plant Location: Multimatic Ride Dynamics - 1100 Stackhouse Road, Newmarket, ON, L3Y 8E4, Canadaa

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gather, manage, and update following as required:
    • Department Manager files (i.e. Vacation calendar).
    • Monthly key measurable indicators.
    • Department GEAR submissions and tracking
  • Keeping the Supplier Performance Database up to date and hosting monthly reviews.
  • Tracking material fluctuations.
  • Become fully versed in SAP input and output abilities.
  • Distribute Purchase Order’s to Finance, Purchasing, and Vendors.
  • Create PO's in SAP from all APQP Requisitions/Spot Buy Requests.
  • E-mail approved PO's to Supplier and cc internal.
  • Make copies of PO's and file in appropriate locations (filing cabinets and shared drive folder).
  • Make corrections to PO's as required by Supplier.
  • Create and distribute RFQ's for Buyers using templates.
  • Follow up on RFQ's for Buyers.
  • Keep the Bid list file up-to-date and functioning efficiently for Production and MRO.
  • Send bailment forms and follow up with pictures for tooling tags.
  • Ensure NDA's are up to date (SSG018-01 / SSG019-02).
  • Request NDA's from new supplier.
  • Request Supplier Profiles SSG010-03.
  • Assist in Bailment follow up for Buyers.
  • Assist in coordinating Supplier Days 1 & 2 for new projects.
  • Responsible for non-inventory items related to MRO and consumables.
  • Quality alert database. File expired alerts.
  • Collection and distribution of new Inspection Plans on a weekly basis
  • E-filing of all completed Inspection Plans.
  • PBI data entry and post updates at the station
  • LPA scheduling, issuing, tracking completion, and open issue follow up
  • Update and maintain deviation administration.
  • Monthly dyno tracking – prepare data for QE review and analysis
  • Assist in the preparation and shipping of prototype/engineering orders (ie. Prepare part tags and box labels, boxes for shipping)
  • Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Department Manager.
  • Abide by all company safety rules, responsibilities, policies, and procedures including the legislative requirements of the OHSA.
  • Work in compliance and conform to the Environment and ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Adopt and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.

Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in administrative or business-related field, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year experience in manufacturing industry.
  • Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, and MRP concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to enable amicable vendor and interdepartmental relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills relative to telephone manners and written reporting.
  • Strong problems solving abilities.
  • Highly conscientious; must be detail oriented.
