EDI Specialist

OVERVIEW:

Multimatic is a privately held, global enterprise supplying engineered components, systems and services to the automotive industry. The company’s core competencies include the development and manufacture of complex mechanisms and body hardware, suspension systems and body structural components as well as the design, engineering and development of light weight composite automotive systems.

We are located in Markham, Ontario and we are currently seeking an EDI Specialist, with specific expertise within the Sales & Distribution modules of SAP.

Position Summary:

This person will be responsible for designing, testing and supporting the EDI process and data integrity. This role will also assist with the design, testing, documentation and implementation of new SAP to EDI interfaces, configuration and system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Transportation/receiving departments with their daily activities – importing EDI & matching demands
  • Proficient mapping in EDI translation software – XML, X12, ODETTE, VDA, EDIFACT and DATA BASE.
  • Proficient knowledge in developing and maintaining Gentran maps (Export, Import, Screen and Print maps)
  • Set-up SAP EDI interface
  • Creation of inbound/outbound IDocs to Gentran
  • Maintain & configure schema’s for EDI into Gentran and EDI related SD side
  • Ensure all sales characteristics are available and passed over to customer invoices.
  • Ensure SAP EDI interface data is accurate and errors are identified and cleaned.
  • Support and train in specific areas of EDI/SAP to help users with their day-to-day duties.
  • Assist receiving/transportation/sales depts with any data cleanup related to truck schedules, open CSA orders resulting from the daily/monthly processing
  • This position acts as the 1st & 2nd line of support to the local User community and will escalate issues if needed to the Development team.

 Required Skills/Education
:

  • Must have good experience with shell programming, batch scripting, XML, SQL together with a working knowledge of network protocols (FTP, FTPS, AS2, OFTP2, VAN etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in delivering solutions using standard EDI formats and protocols.
  • Good understanding web service API (SOAP, WSDL and REST)
  • Able to use shell programming, batch scripting, XML, SQL query.
  • Good understanding of network protocols (FTP, FTPS, AS2, VAN)
  • In-depth knowledge about various EDI networking protocols and their usage, EDI documents, methodologies, and integration tools.
  • Experience and good understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • LSMW experience (including recordings & programs)
  • Proficient in investigating order variances (EDI Imported & what demands have been created)
  • Great understanding of packaging process in SAP and the ability to translate IDOC data
  • Familiar with and can configure both Sales Order and CSA (Customer scheduling agreements)
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment (Automotive would be an asset)
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees in both technical & non-technical terms
