Electrician
Location: Multimatic C-Mech, Newmarket, Ontario, Canada
Multimatic C-Mech is seeking an Electrician for afternoon shift to perform all electrical work and provide the company with safe and well maintained equipment while ensuring quality and efficiency to meet production requirements. This position will report directly to the Maintenance Manager of the facility and will work closely with the Operations team to fulfill the needs of the business.

Scope of Position
This position is responsible for providing all departments with safe, well maintained equipment, while ensuring quality and the ability to meet production requirements in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform all electrical work including repairs of equipment and machinery as required.
- Ensure that all associated lighting and power are in proper working order, meet all codes and company procedures.
- Backup to assembly line programs, creating and modifying a line program and die wiring.
- Complete all necessary paperwork including work orders/time sheets/log board entries/line book revisions as required in a timely manner Maintains up to date documentation of all equipment. This includes making sure that any changes to equipment are documented.
- Participate in development and implementation of latest technologies to improve productivity and quality.
- Make recommendations to improve equipment efficiency and cost reduction. This includes manufacturing, repairs and installations of parts, components, services and equipment.
- Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement suggestions on the production line.
- Order parts and following the parts received procedure.
- Perform routing preventive maintenance as required.
- Maintain a clean tidy and organized work area.
- Work in compliance with the provisions of OHSA and the regulations.
- Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that Multimatic requires to be used or worn.
- Report to manager or supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which you are aware and which may endanger yourself or another worker.
- Report to manager or supervisor any contravention of OHSA or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which you know.
- Not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the regulations or by Multimatic without providing an adequate temporary protective device and when the need for removing or making ineffective the protective device has ceased, the protective device shall be replaced immediately.
- Not use or operate any equipment, machine, device or thing or work in a manner that may endanger yourself or any other worker.
- Not engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.
- Participate in continuous improvement program.
- Work in a safe manner at all times.
- Adopt and practice Kaizen Principles and Concepts.
- Participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
- Perform other duties as required (ie-special projects).
- Work in compliance and conform to IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards.
Education and Experience Required:
- Licensed Industrial Electrician.
- PLC programming.
- Extensive experience with Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Mechanical systems.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Computer literacy and a good knowledge of MS Office, Excel and Outlook is an asset.
- Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural environment.
- Good communication skills (written and oral).
