Scope of Position :

To review, enhance, and sustain standardized business processes that continuously improve manufacturing and new product launch performance. Proactively review business processes to evaluate opportunities for standardization or improvement, while verifying compliance via on-site audits and providing training as needed. This position will interface extensively with plant manufacturing and new product launch teams in a mix of office and shop floor environments.

 

Key Responsibilities :

  • Set direction, implement, facilitate, administer, and verify the manufacturing business system and associated initiatives at the plant(s).
  • Involve all employees in the manufacturing business system utilizing Lean Manufacturing methods and process improvement strategies through alignment with global leadership.
  • Significant initial focus on APQP business processes and guiding project team compliance.
  • Define objectives, goals and milestones, with General Manager(s) and APQP teams.
  • Coordinate the deployment strategy, planning and implementation processes.
  • Train cross-functional teams on required knowledge, tools and practices.
  • Support both office and shop floor teams (coaching, mentoring, and guidance).
  • Plans and coordinates APQP audits by project Phase/Gate and reports results in monthly leadership and/or KPI meetings.
  • Plans and coordinates manufacturing business system process audits.
  • Coordinates and develops specified manufacturing business systems standards.
  • Track implementation activities and identify process deviations/roadblocks. Coordinate and propose identification of alternatives and solutions to plant teams and senior leadership.
  • Drive and support process reviews and improvement potentials, reporting status to plant teams and senior leadership.
  • Develop and maintain an organized record keeping system that ensures accurate data related to standards, audits, roadmaps, and associated activities are accessible to the required team within Multimatic.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times.
  • Adopt and practice Kaizen Lean Manufacturing Principles and Concepts. Participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
  • Follow all general procedures where applicable as indicated in the General Procedures section of the Level III Procedure manual.
  • Follow all Departmental General Procedures as well as procedures or process maps for this position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work in compliance and conform to IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards.

Basic Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Automotive Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, or Program Management.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of APQP and Core Tools.
  • Previous experience with business processes / systems implementation would be an asset.
  • Understanding or World Class Manufacturing (WCM) strategies and tools would be an asset.
  • Good Computer skills including knowledge of MS project, Excel, Word and others.
  • Knowledge of IATF16949/ISO 14001 systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams in a multicultural global environment.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English with excellent communication skills.
