Damper Technician

Position Overview:

Multimatic is a global automotive supply company providing hardware and engineering services to OEMs around the world.  Its UK-based engineering division, Multimatic Technical Centre Europe (MTCE), is a leading supplier of engineering and vehicle development services to major automotive OEMs and a growing number of niche vehicle manufacturers.  Specialties include suspension systems, vehicle dynamics, carbon fibre structural components, mechanisms and mechatronics.

MTCE is seeking a Damper Technician to work in the production of Multimatic DSSV™ dampers and other suspension components.

Unit 1, Wyatt Way, Thetford, Norfolk, IP24 1HB, England

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble DSSV dampers to production specifications using information from GA drawings and procedures.
  • Test DSSV production dampers using Dynamic Suspension software, interpret results and make adjustments to achieve pass criteria.
  • Assemble hydraulic components to production specifications using information from GA drawings and procedures.
  • Test production hydraulic units using DynasoftMX software.
  • Assemble brake and steering mechanical components to production specification using information from GA drawings and procedures.
  • Ensure build sign-off paperwork is completed.
  • Rework and prepare component parts when required using machining and fabrication equipment.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times. 

Basic Requirements: 

  • Machining and fabrication experience would be an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Windows
  • Engineering certification or equivalent
  • Basic mechanical assembly experience.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
