Position Overview:

Using advanced, proprietary roll- and hot-form manufacturing processes, Multimatic Indiana - Butler produces fully engineered, high-quality components, assemblies and systems such as bumpers and chassis/body structural components for vehicle manufacturers.


SUMMARY

This position is primary responsible for all human resources activities including employment recruitment, training and development, positive employee relations, and regulatory compliance.  Administer employee engagement activities and recognition programs.  Will also satisfactorily perform the duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned or determined, from time to time, by the HR Manager of the Employer or his/her nominee(s).


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishes positive employee relations, trust and credibility. Is approachable and balances business needs with employee needs, and spends significant time interfacing directly with employees/client base.
  • Work closely with teams on the manufacturing floor to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Support employee recognition activities, including planning and executing of events.
  • Recruit/Interview/Pre-Hire/On-board to fill open positions while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Assuring that properly qualified employees are hired and staffing is maintained to cover production requirements. Analyze recruitment process and recommend improvements and implement.  Set up new hires in HR system.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and continuously improve training programs to assure maximum effectiveness.
  • Effectively manage and maintain time and attendance system, personal time request, leaves of absences, and assists with worker’s compensation, FMLA, and STD.
  • Recommends and participates in disciplinary and termination actions of Associates.  Attends required proceedings if necessary.  Collaborates any needs and keeps managers and supervisors informed of problems/issues, company objectives, and constructive plant communication.
  • Assists with developing, administering, and maintaining facility training needs/programs and training analysis with all levels of plant organization.
  • Directs plant organization development activities with specific emphasis in working with Associates on professional development plans to prepare them for promotional opportunities.
  • Accountability for implementation, execution, and monitoring of associate appraisal and performance evaluation programs.
  • Participates in developing department goals, support, production needs, coordinates employee relation programs and facilitate special projects.
  • Maintains records and files in accordance with state and federal laws.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • He/she is expected to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with all functional groups within the plant, corporation and business community. He/she is expected to work conscientiously and effectively, paying close attention to quality and detail.  High organizational skills. Individual must have experience with and be able to appropriately handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality at all times.  Maintain in-depth knowledge of daily legal requirements and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Individual must have above average computer proficiency including experience and training with office programs (word, excel) as well as specific experience and training with human resources database systems.
  • He/she must be able to perform multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities with frequent interruption.  Must be results and people/service oriented, but have sound judgment with the ability to balance other business considerations.  Must maintain a high energy level and a high concern for people.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2 years’ experience with recruiting and onboarding. Associates Degree or 2-3+ years’ experience in Human Resources or any related field required.  Labor Relations and Employment law classes and/or HR Generalist certificate preferred.  Proficient in MS Word and Excel required.
