Development Engineer

Position Overview:

MTCE is currently seeking to recruit a Development Engineer who will be responsible for assisting in the advancement of existing designs and emerging new technologies in the suspension field.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To support the development of Multimatic’s core damper and suspension products
  • To execute R&D tasks, specify tests, evaluate and present results utilizing the findings to assist in future development activities
  • Develop new designs and ideas
  • Evolve new product performance specifications
  • Liaise with the design departments in formulating specifications
  • Perform manual engineering calculations as required
  • Consider alternative solutions for given tasks or problems
  • Ensure adequate communications with other program team members
  • Review all related supplier / customer / federal specifications and requirements for components
  • Ensure that the project requirements, which include timing, are understood and me
  • Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management systems (e.g. TS 16949, ISO 90012014)
  • Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in automotive engineering or similar
  • Degree in Engineering or significant experience performing engineering tasks
  • Working knowledge of applicable range of products
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes applicable to range of products
  • Excellent knowledge of computer-aided design tools.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T an advantage
  • Working knowledge of Failure Mode avoidance tools, e.g. DFMEA, PFMEA, Six Sigma
  • Hold current passport and be able to travel as / when required
  • Good social and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
