Multimatic Indiana - Butler is looking for a Shipping Supervisor who will report to the Materials Manager and be responsible for providing outstanding customer service and delivery fulfillment.

SUMMARY

Manages or directs all shipping department activities on the shift to fulfill customer delivery requirements in a fast-paced industrial automotive environment. This role carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Maintains good communication with other supervisors and managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•Responsible for ensuring all company policies are carried out.

•Responsible to lead and assist in accident investigations and to complete accident reports within 24 hrs. of the occurrence.

•Plans, assigns, and directs all shipping activity and associates.

•Utilizes effective communication with all associates.

•Using the preferred shipping/receiving software will train or perform as required:

◦Prepare shipping documents (ie. BOL’s, shippers, load sheets, etc.)

◦Prepare bar code labels for shipments and scans product for verification of load against load sheet as required.

◦Pull EDI releases daily. Interprets release information and communicates release information via appropriate methods such as spreadsheets, email, etc. for production and inventory control maintenance

◦Send ASN’s to customers within customer’s acceptable time window.

◦Process materials received paperwork according to procedures.

•Lead and facilitate corrective action and continuous improvement teams.

•Responsible for shipping associates performance reviews on an annual basis.

•Responsible for coaching shipping associates and completing Conduct and Corrective Action reports when necessary.

•Responsible for the approval and management of days off requests from shipping associates.

•Responsible for the daily approval of employee timecards and accurate completion of all attendance paperwork.

•Ensures shipping associates are adequately trained on their jobs and trains associates when needed.

•Must be forklift train the trainer certified. Demonstrate safe, effective operation and certify all new forklift drivers.

•Coordinate safety improvement projects and participate in injury 5-why corrective actions.

•Determine tools needed for shipping department personnel to be successful and work with department supervisor to acquire them.

•Responsible for daily 5-S audits in their assigned areas and for follow up to resolve issues found during the audit.

•Monitor customer forecasts to fulfill customer requirements and assure schedule fulfillment.

•Lead and direct shipping department associates in their assigned areas on a daily basis.

•Lead meetings with shipping associates to discuss established objectives and how to make improvements in these areas.

•Complete daily shift shipping communications to team members as assigned.

•Understand SAP issues and maintain accurate inventory via cycle counts and inventory adjustments as required.

•Create and/or assist with work instructions for new and existing processes and maintain their accuracy.

•The ability to effectively train future individuals given this position.

•Performs other duties as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

•Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA / Environmental laws and regulations for Indiana.

•Proven ability to determine root causes of accidents and implement corrective actions.

•Broad knowledge of health, safety, and environmental principles, practices and procedures.

•Proven ability to communicate and present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.

•Proficient in the use of personal computers, internet and Microsoft Office suite of software.

•Be detail-oriented and have excellent follow-through skills.

•Proven ability to work as a member or a team and as a team leader.

•Must possess high degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Three to five years supervisory experience in a manufacturing/shipping environment preferred. Lean manufacturing experience required. Bachelor’s/Associates degree in Business Management, Operations, Industrial Leadership a plus.
