Position Overview:

Multimatic Motorsports Europe operates a ‘works’ race team fielding a pair of Ford GTs in the LMGTE class of the FIA World Endurance Championship (including Le Mans) on behalf of Ford Motor Company. Entered under the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing banner, the team is a division of Multimatic Technical Centre Europe (MTCE). Aside from providing engineering and product-development services to Multimatic’s own manufacturing facilities worldwide, MTCE is a leading contract engineering and vehicle-development resource to major OEMs, motorsport teams and a growing number of niche-vehicle manufacturers.

Multimatic Motorsports Europe is currently seeking to recruit a No. 2 mechanic who will report to the Chief Mechanic and assume responsibility for race-preparing a Ford GT race car to the highest professional standards.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

As the No. 2 mechanic on the car you will be responsible for the assembly, service and operation of the car at race events around the globe and at the team base. You will take direction primarily from your No. 1 and the Chief Mechanic, as well as from the Race Engineer and Team Principal from time to time. You need to be an excellent team player with a good work ethic and flexible attitude to work. The role will include extensive travel, require a high level of commitment, and candidates must possess a strong competitive nature.

Education and Experience:

You must be an experienced motorsport technician and ideally have worked with a factory team in the WEC and at Le Mans. Experience of competitive wheel changing in race pit stops would be a distinct advantage. The successful candidate will need to exhibit strong mechanical/technical and organisational skills; and must be computer literate to a basic level.
