Quality Manager

Multimatic's Niche Vehicle Assembly Europe (MNVAE), is located in Coventry UK.  It is a world-class facility responsible for the production and assembly of future bespoke vehicles, and is currently seeking a Quality Manager to join the team.  

The Quality Manager , will lead all the quality aspects of a low volume bespoke vehicle launch and will ensure that all component and vehicle quality requirements are robustly addressed. These requirements include all controls required to monitor the process, relevant documentation, verification, capability studies, and all improvements required to be implemented so that jobs run in accordance with Quality standards. The overall function of this position is to lead and direct the Quality department towards developing stable and controlled Quality processes for implementation in the assembly process.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop Corrective Action Reports for customer and internal concerns
  • Review/approve PPAP and PSW submissions and maintain documentation in an organized manner
  • Write accurate and complete control plans and inspection instructions
  • Conduct supplier PPAP Events with OEM support if requested.
  • Ensure supplier corrective actions are effective, documented, implemented and closed in a timely manner
  • Audit and own end-of-line vehicle inspection and agree pass to sales criteria with OEM auditors.
  • Conduct proactive Control Plan and 8D investigations to ensure product and process controls are effective
  • Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning
  • Analyze data and provide solutions/recommendation's for product and process improvements
  • Participate in quality training functions as required
  • Maintains customer, company and supplier confidentiality
  • Customer Representative with responsibility and authority to ensure that customer requirements are addressed. This includes selection of special characteristics, setting quality objectives and related training, corrective and preventive actions, product design and development interaction
  • Coordinates internal and external audits
  • Coordinates regulatory requirements with other departments/customers
  • Must comply with all ISO9001/TS16949, ISO 14001 (Environmental) and OHSA (Health and Safety) systems and standards
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Completion of a University Degree or higher qualification
  • Strong and demonstrated experience successfully leading and directing a QA department in a manufacturing, OEM automotive environment
  • ASQC Quality Engineer certification or equivalent
  • Excellent problem solving techniques and methods
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in full vehicle end-of-line quality auditing to meet a demanding OEM acceptance criteria before passing to Sales. Attention to detail on a complex product will be required.
  • Working experience with Automotive Customer Specifics including AIAG requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of PPAP and Process Sign Off
  • Sound knowledge of Quality Management System, ISO9001/TS16949
  • In Depth SPC knowledge, blue print reading, CAD data, and GD&T knowledge
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees both within the Multimatic divisions and with, customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, engineers, etc.
  • Supervisory skills in the areas of Interaction and Communication, Orientation, Company Policies, Absenteeism, and Negotiation

Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be responsible for recruiting direct reports within the Material handling. Leading this team by example will include excellent communication skills, planning, work assignment, and reviewing work amongst the Material team. Clarity and focus to deliver a challenging project on time and cost are essential.
