Position Overview:

Multimatic Ride Dynamics is looking for a Material Planner. Materials Planning schedules and forecasts the correct volume of materials, goods and products inbound to the business from its supply chain companies. The individual shall ensure that the supply of material meets the production schedule and minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity. The candidate must be able to deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish production schedules to meet customer release orders in requested amounts on time while maximizing effective utilization of production facilities.
  • Provide customer contact support both internally and externally.
  • Ensure production lines scheduling needs are satisfied.
  • Provide a weekly customer delivery report to Management.
  • Publication of a daily production attainment report.
  • Preparation and conducting of inventory analysis and associated follow-up.
  • Monitoring and maintenance of customer specific systems as required (Chrysler SMART, Ford DDL/CMMS, and GM Supply Power).
  • Using material releases (830’s) and shipping schedules (862’s) to plan and direct material to ensure that each production line meets production schedule requirements.
  • Provide a weekly supplier delivery performance report to Management.
  • Contact person for all designated suppliers regarding daily orders and weekly forecasts.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining the flow of dunnage back to the suppliers.
  • Assist with all pre-planned Physical Inventory activities.
  • Maintain good communication with all levels of associates.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently, problem solving, and troubleshooting within the department.
  • Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (TS 16949).
  • Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.

Education and Experience:

  • 3 or more years of scheduling & procurement experience in a manufacturing environment, automotive manufacturing preferred.
  • University/college education in related discipline preferred but not essential. APICS/CPIM designation a definite asset.
  • Experience using SAP or related ERP system.
  • Inventory Control Principles (cycle counting, MOQ, EOQ)
  • Knowledge and experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Understanding supplier releases and tracking supplier on time delivery.
  • Knowledge and experience with KanBan Inventory Systems
  • Logistics and Transportation Knowledge
  • Understanding of FIFO Principles
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook
  • Understanding customer satisfaction (ratings, capacity, and related supply)
