Position Overview:

Multimatic Product Services is seeking a highly motivated individual to be the Product Line Manager for Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Structures. They will report to the Executive Director and be responsible for developing and expanding the CFRP business operations; with a primary focus for the automotive sector. The Product Line Manager will promote the advancement of; materials development, manufacturing processes for increased efficiencies, and identification of targeted business and customers, all in support of meeting the growth targets of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

The Product Line Manager will be responsible for working with the manufacturing division to identify and pursue targeted business opportunities that align to the vision, capacity, and capabilities of Multimatic’s expanding CFRP business. This will include supporting the annual business planning process, in addition to, direct customer management for all existing and new business pursuits. The ability to meet customer objectives and to identify risks and opportunities will be strong assets to have in this role. 

  • Primary customer contact for new business development, RFQ responses, engineering and commercial data exchange for composite business both within and between the company and its OEM customers
  • Develop, support and deliver design proposals, technical reviews and commercial proposals to customer
  • Support of OE customer design and release engineers in their responsibilities
  • Support internal Technical Sales Managers and Product Engineers
  • International travel is required for customer visits, support at technical centers for engineering reviews, manufacturing site visits, and launch support activities
  • Program management oversite including; engineering, testing, design release, quality, and timing
  • Support development of and present DVP&R’s, FMEA's, drawings and design sign-off
  • Support customer prototype builds and launch support

Requirements:

  • College or University graduate with Bachelors Engineering Degree
  • Minimum 10 years of automotive experience in product design and development, with concentrated focus on composite structures and/or applications
  • Strong business planning and strategy skills are required for this position
  • Detailed understanding of composites industry, including but not limited to; raw material supply/suppliers, manufacturing processing and methodology, quality inspection, supply site certification and volume manufacturing production operations are desired work experience
  • Knowledge of current composite competitive landscape; OEs, suppliers, new technologies, processes, development activities
  • Understanding of GD&T principles and relationship to various manufacturing processes
  • Valid documentation for international travel is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong familiarity with MS Office applications

 Preferences: 

  • Previous business planning, strategy, program management, testing, design release experience
  • Successful track record of pursuing new business opportunities within the composites and vehicle market
  • Professional success in technical sales, plant construction or in the production and processing of fiber composite components
