Position Overview:

Multimatic Product Services specializes in providing product engineering and account management support internally to the company's business units and externally to its customer base. Multimatic Product Services is seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual to be a Mechanisms Product Engineer that will report to the Product Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the company’s product portfolio with primary focus on mechanisms in the Body Closures and Structures areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend customer meetings and acting as a customer liaison dealing with OEM customers and representing Multimatic manufacturing and engineering divisions. 
  • Fostering healthy working relationships with the company’s customers via reliable local presence
  • Lead in open issues meetings with Multimatic’s global manufacturing facilities, Multimatic Engineering, and its customers
  • Identifying, tracking and developing resolution for open issues, managing engineering changes and proposals, initiating RFQ's and resolving manufacturing
  • Maintaining an exchange of engineering information within and between the company and its OEM customers
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities which satisfy the needs of the company
  • Assist in determining strategic direction for new business opportunities with customers, market segments, products, etc.
  • Assist in the development of Technical Review presentations to customers for new business opportunities, ongoing business and high level management reviews
  • Coordinate customer part returns, inspection/analysis and response for new product development and production warranty

Requirements:

  • Previous program management, testing, design release experience,
  • College or university graduate with Bachelors Engineering Degree
  • 3-5 years of automotive experience in product design and development
  • Familiarity with one or more automotive OEM design processes, products, business practices and systems
  • Understanding of GD&T principles and relationship to various manufacturing processes
  • The ability to meet customer objectives and to identify risks and opportunities
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and customer relationship skills
  • Strong familiarity with MS Office applications
  • Valid documentation for international travel is required
