Materials Manager, Multimatic Ride Dynamics
Location: Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions, East Gwillimbury, Ontario, Canada
Position Overview:
Multimatic Ride Dynamics is looking for an Materials Manager to coordinate all purchasing activities between suppliers and all areas of organization, improve company profitability through the development of Suppliers and VAVE activities, and purchase materials to support company needs in accordance with company policies, customer specifications, provincial and federal laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish and monitor overall procedures, methods, projects, policies, and programs designed to improve MRP control efficiency and company profitability.
- Advise other department managers of any potential problems, concerns and opportunities for improvement.
- Meet or exceed all objectives/requirements of the business plan.
- Follow up on correspondence with MRD Customers and Suppliers either verbally and/or in writing as required.
- Aid in the sourcing of all materials, components, outside processes, and contracts.
- Maintain the confidentiality of the company and its business.
- Constantly monitor industry pricing and product cost in order to maintain the best possible overall profitability for the company.
- Keep informed on the latest changes to Customs Procedures and inform other department and employees, especially in regards to NAFTA and the Automotive Trade Agreement.
Education and/or Experience:
- Completion of a Community College Diploma or a University Degree. A professional designation in either Materials or Purchasing ( i.e. CPIM; C.P.P.; Plog).
- Seven to ten years Materials or Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment that may be similar to the automotive industry.
- Good knowledge of Government legislation in the areas of Health & Safety (OSHA, WHIMS, etc.), Labour Relations, Employment Standards, Human Rights, Pay Equity, WSIB, etc.
- Experience in Damper products and systems preferred.
- Good working knowledge of Purchasing and SAP systems.
- Supervisory skills in the area of, Interaction and Communication, Orientation, Company Policies, Absenteeism, Negotiation.
- Computer skills in the area of: Manufacturing Control Systems, Windows, Word processing, Spreadsheets, E-mail, MS Project, Access and other databases.
- Excellent problem solving techniques and methods
- Superior technical, negotiation, and “soft” communication skills
