Multimatic Structures & Suspension has recently expanded its manufacturing presence in Fort Wayne, IN. We are searching for a dynamic individual who desires to join an energetic and dedicated team that is launching a new facility with new equipment and a new product line.

LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR. This is a 1st shift position.

SUMMARY
This is a fast paced environment requiring excellent communication skills, teamwork and the ability to organize and prioritize. The primary function will be the coordination of incoming and outgoing freight including; spare parts, components, W.I.P material. Verify and ensure the accuracy of all Multimatic and supplier owned returnable containers (totes, racks, pallets, lids and bins, etc). Supplement our shipping/receiving coordinators as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate all movement of material within the manufacturing plant
- Responsible for providing training, direction and supervision of all Forklift Operators, Material Handlers and Shipping & Receiving Coordinators
- Ensures zero disruptions with material flow throughout plant operations
- Performs inventory checks, cycle counts, etc. as needed
- Works with vendors & customers to ensure on-time-delivery
- Interacts/communicates with customers utilizing customer specific web-based “portal”
- Works with our vendors, carriers and materials analyst to enhance our freight utilization as well as minimize our freight costs and control inventory levels
- Responsible for optimizing all loads inbound and outbound and finding best priced carrier
- Responsible for securing annual freight contracts as needed
- Monitor Multimatic and supplier owned returnable containers as well as Multimatic expendable containers to contain shipping costs
- Other related duties as assigned
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
- Provides direct supervision of Forklift Operators, Material Handlers and Shipping & Receiving Coordinators including: training, teaching, coaching, mentoring and inspiring team members
- Provide the Supply Chain Manager with full details on all functions
- Work closely with the Materials Analyst & Materials Planner to ensure the proper flow of inbound & outbound materials
- Work closely with Carriers and Transportation Company: maintaining constant contact with Dispatch and drivers to ensure all pickup, drop trailer and schedule pickup are done on time
- Interact and communicate daily with other shift’s employees, supervisors and management to ensure that all shipping requirements are met

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Personal computer skills in a Windows environment, including proficiency in Word and Excel software
- 2 -4 year’s experience supervising Forklift Operators, Material Handlers and or Shipping & Receiving functions (required)
- Automotive manufacturing experience (required)
- Must speak, read and write fluent English.
- Possess the Ability, Skill and Will to drive teams to be successful
- Emotional Maturity - ability to manage and work through stressful situations effectively
