It is Multimatic's Centre of Excellence for the ongoing design, development and implementation of DSSV® Damping Technology, and has established a strong relationship with key international Motorsports organizations. MTCE is also a leading contract engineering and vehicle development resource to major automotive OEMs and a growing number of niche vehicle manufacturers.
Position Overview:
MTCE is currently seeking to recruit exceptional Graduate Structures Engineer with a range of skills to join the growing team delivering OEM, motorsport and niche vehicle projects within Multimatic.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
As a Structures/Analysis Engineer you will be responsible for carrying out all phases of assigned analysis projects. This will involve finite element modelling, results review, hand calculations, report preparation and presentation to support our divisions and outside customers. The engineer will work closely with other members of the team, including other analysis engineers, design engineers, manufacturing personnel and customers. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of analysis projects, from OEM components, mechanisms and motorsport primarily using Altair Hyperworks (ABAQUS, Optistruct) with potential to also learn LS-Dyna and ADAMS (vehicle dynamics).
Key Requirements:
- High grades in Solid Body Mechanics modules at University, confident with hand calculations
- Strong engineering aptitude with a capacity for conceptualisation relating to the functional requirements of mechanical components
- Able to demonstrate problem solving skills displaying a reasonable depth of understanding in the specific technical problems he/she has been involved
- Passionate about the automotive or motorsports industries
- Flexibility to work on a variety of tasks as and when required
- Ability to work to all relevant company guidelines and procedures
Desirables
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and its application to the analysis of mechanical systems
- Knowledge of HyperWorks is advantageous, and ABAQUS or NASTRAN solvers is also useful
- Physical component testing and understanding gained from component failures
- Some practical experience from hobbies or projects outside of university (e.g. tinkering with cars or machining experience) would be desirable
