Mechatronics Quality Engineer
Location: FORMULA SAE NORTH, Multimatic Product Services, Bangkok, Multimatic Anton Manufacturing, Concord, Ontario, Multimatic Manufacturing, Concord, Ontario, Canada
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Direct involvement with Engineering with input on design, direction on current and new mechatronics projects.
• Attend drawing review meetings.
• Identify and resolve design issues.
• Work with AQP to coordinate the activities and subsequent documentation for Customer Ppap Submissions
2) Ensure products being manufactured comforms to all engineering, customer and manufacturing standards.
3) Direct involvement with Multimatic Manufacturing in the manufacturing of all Mechatronic projects.
• Development of Poke Yokes.
• Development and maintenance of PFMEA ( live documents )
• Development and upkeep of Control Plans. ( live documents )
• Identification and elimination of potential Customer issues.
4) Direct involvement with writing and trouble shooting both Multimatic and Customer test software and applications.
5) Engage in supplier development, purchased part manufacturing and trouble shooting at supplier locations.
6) Lead, Own, and investigate internal /external quality issues for assigned programs throughout all stages of production.
• Provide immediate responses to the customer about containment / interim action as. Consult with direct management and in leiu of them, with the AGM, or GM, communicate decisions back to the Customer within same day.
• Lead, and Coordinate root cause investigation to identify the root cause for all quality issues.
• Work with various Multimatic Departments to implement robust meaningful corretive actions.
• Update Customers ( internal and external ) on status of specific quality issues.
• Capture implemented actions on Customer specific reports
7) Train operators on new programs
8) Work in a safe manner at all times
9) Conforms to TS 16949 / ISO 14001 standards / job instructions.
10) Participate in DMN Activities.
11) Signing authority for Job Instructions / Control Plans.
12) Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements :
1) Possess a University / College Technical background or equivalent.
2) Red X , Shanin Principles Problem Solving.
3) Sound understanding / working knowledge of electric motors, mechanisms, ECU., brakes, sensors etc.
4) Fluency in English is required
5) Periodic North American, and potential Asian travel is required.
6) Maintain open communicate with various interacting departments, and management.
7) Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
8) Trained in Statistical Process Control ( SPC )
9) Measurement Systems / Analysis of the same.
10) Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
11) Trained in DOE / Problem Solving
12) Previous experience in the Automotive Industry.
13) Supervisory or Quality Engineering Experience preferred.
14) Knowledge of TS16949 / ISO 14001 standards
15) Excellent interpersonal skills – dealing with customers and various departments in a multicultural environment.
