Project Manager

Position Overview:

Multimatic Niche Vehicles Europe (MNVE) provides engineering, product development, component manufacturing and assembly to U.K. based Automotive O.E.M.’s and has established a strong relationship with midlands base car manufacturer Aston Martin. MNVE is also a leading supplier of vehicle chassis & body systems to the major automotive sector and smaller niche vehicle manufacturers.

 

MNVE currently seeks a Project Manager responsible for the overall integrity and coherence of select automotive vehicle programs. The Project Manager will develop and maintain the project environment to support each function within it.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

The successful candidate will apply all APQP standards, including: quote review and submission, feasibility reviews, customer liaison and open issues, launch support, program binder and timeline, containment, and 100% inspection pre- and post-launch. The Project Manager will also oversee timeline tracking for engineering, testing, QC, and purchasing activities for project development; and will manage process engineering functions with regards to PFMEA, plant layout, line trials, operator instruction, mistake proofing and mistake proofing instruction, tooling manufacture, process, and process mapping.

The Project Manager will also guide the following engineering functions: source tooling, checking fixtures, tool trials, and ensuring that CP/CPK targets are met; control planning, re-work instructions, and SPC results; design, analysis, DFMEA, and engineering changes as per Open Issues List or ECN.

In addition, the Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all personnel are working in a safe and efficient manner. Adopting and practicing kaizen Principles and Concepts, the Project Manager will support and encourage kaizen activities, and participate in kaizen and GEAR activities while training, coaching and assisting department personnel in the development of continuous improvement ideas.

Other duties will be performed as required.

 

Basic Requirements:

Completion of an appropriate blend of education and/or experience equalling a minimum of five years is required. As Project Manager, you must be capable of organising and managing priorities, business equipment, and problem solving techniques. The successful candidate will have an understanding of manufacturing and logistics processes, and will be familiar with requirements of the automotive quality standard TS16949:2009 as well as with MRP systems in an automotive manufacturing environment. This position will require the ability to interact with all levels of employees and customer liaison in a multicultural organisations while providing direction and leadership. A knowledge of composite component manufacture would be beneficial however not essential.

Interpersonal communication skills would be a bonus, as are the ability to read, write and speak English is necessary. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United Kingdom, (EU), hold a valid driver’s license, valid passport and be prepared to travel internationally when required.
