Multimatic Structures & Suspension has expanded its manufacturing presence in the Fort Wayne, IN area. We are searching for a dynamic Accounts Payable Clerk who desires to join an energetic and dedicated team.

(NOTE: this could be an entry level position for a recent graduate with a 4-year degree in accounting, finance or similarly related field.)

SUMMARY

This position is responsible to maintain, process and monitor payments/expenditures for both the New Haven, IN and Lewisburg, TN divisions, reporting to the Divisional Plant Controller in New Haven.  This position will have office space in the New Haven, IN location. This position requires the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial and operational data, assist in efforts to identify cost reduction and productivity recommendations by partnering with the plant leadership team and other functional areas. Accounts Payable Clerk must also have the interpersonal skills to successfully collaborate with others, including vendors to ensure compliance with meeting customer requirements and timely processing of payments.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Printing, processing and matching invoices
  • Keying payments and journal entries into SAP system
  • Calculating and verifying accuracy of vendor transactions
  • Resolving A/P issues with vendors and internal staff
  • Proper allocation of charges
  • Provide Reception coverage during mornings/afternoons and backup during vacation/leaves
  • Maintain and update vendor records
  • Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in accounts payable or accounting-related position
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good computer skills, including data entry, Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Introductory-level accounting courses are an asset
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to work in a busy environment
  • Accuracy of work

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant discipline preferred
  • 1-3 years experience with AP processes (desired) in a manufacturing environment
  • SAP experience is desirable.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, comprehend and interpret documents and statutes from jurisdictional agencies and governmental units, procedure and policy manuals, contracts and agreements. 

Ability to write instructions, procedures, policies, reports and various correspondences. 

Ability to speak and present effectively in one-on-one, and in small and large group settings, as well as before customers, government and regulatory agencies

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamental accounting spreadsheets.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.  Ability to analyze large amounts of data and provide summaries and comparisons.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding and create instructions, reports and analysis from data or statues furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Interpret and apply laws and regulations to situations.  Ability to negotiate with associates and business entities.

Superior interpersonal abilities.  Ability to communicate with diverse personalities is tactful, mature and flexible.  Good reasoning abilities, sound judgment, resourceful and well organized.  The ability to establish credibility and be decisive, while supporting personnel and the organizations preferences and priorities.
