Vehicle Development Engineer

It is Multimatic's Centre of Excellence for the ongoing design, development and implementation of suspension technologies, and has established strong relationships with key international automotive organizations. MTCE is also a leading contract engineering and vehicle development resource to major automotive OEMs and a growing number of niche vehicle manufacturers.
MTCE is currently seeking to recruit a Vehicle Development Engineer to join the growing team delivering OEM, motorsport and niche vehicle projects within Multimatic.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
As a vehicle development engineer you will be involved in the development and optimisation of suspension systems for customer vehicles, as well as in-house projects, utilising MTCE’s chassis development rig and proprietary software. You will be involved in the optimisation of grip for race car suspension from Formula 1 and LMP1 through Formula E to many other categories and you will be involved in the optimisation of road car suspension for performance, comfort and grip.
You will also be involved in the development and optimisation of MTCE’s suspension products, including dampers, springs, etc. using the same techniques. Knowledge of suspension design would therefore be a distinct advantage as would an understanding of hydraulic systems.
This is a customer facing position, you can expect to be independently working directly with customers most days. Presentation skills and confident speaking are therefore essential and the successful candidate will be comfortable in this high pressure environment.
Education and Experience:
If you have ten (10) years’ experience in a similar or related position within the automotive industry, an Engineering degree or equivalent and have the drive to reach challenging goals, this position should interest you. It is expected that candidates will have a background in suspension design or similar experience.
