Position Overview:

Located in Markham, Ontario, CanadaMultimatic Niche Vehicles North America (MNVNA) is part of the Multimatic Engineering Group, and is the world-class facility responsible for production of the Ford GT supercar.

Multimatic Niche Vehicles North America (MNVNA) is seeking to recruit a Buyer/Purchaser - Automotive to manage day-to-day purchasing activities and utilize buying power to maintain quality at the most optimized cost.

The responsibilities of the Buyer will include purchasing of a variety of electrical and mechanical automotive components and systems for vehicle production. The Buyer will be responsible for maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating and sourcing locally/globally, planning and forecasting inventory levels. The successful candidate will be required to manage purchase orders, requisitions and work cross-functionally with engineering, SQA and other business activities to identify cost-saving opportunities. In order to qualify for this opportunity, the candidate must have proven experience in the automotive OEM industry.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Negotiating and purchasing finished automotive components and systems
  • Building and maintaining a supply base while focusing on supplier development
  • Reconciling balance of components and making necessary adjustments
  • Root cause analysis and making recommendation for changes to eliminate error causes (e.g., BOM, reporting issues, shortage of material etc.)
  • Analyzing MRP data and making recommendations to purchase material in a 'just in time' environment
  • Recommendations for improving supply chain (e.g., fixing lead time and recalculating levels etc.)
  • Developing suggestions and providing recommendations for improving total inventory turnover
  • Developing and analyzing Key Performance Indicators on a monthly basis to determine where continuous improvements can be achieved
  • Working in conjunction with SQA to approve qualified suppliers
  • Working in conjunction with material control to ensure proper stocking level requirements

Education & Experience Requirement:

The ideal candidate for this role must have 3-5 years’ experience in purchasing electrical and mechanical automotive components and systems. Experience in the automotive industry is mandatory, including a basic knowledge of complete vehicle systems. Must have experience in managing purchase orders, requisitions, and a strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are key for this role. Must have the ability to take ownership and manage the purchasing process from end to end. This role requires a strategic and an analytical mindset towards purchasing.
