Multimatic Indiana - Butler is looking for a Human Resources Generalist who is responsible for all human resources activities including employment recruitment, training and development, and employee relations.  Administer employee engagement and recognition programs.  In cooperation with plant’s HR Payroll and Benefits Coordinator(s), assure that company employment, personnel and equal opportunity policies and practices comply with the applicable provisions of federal and state labor laws including the maintenance of necessary files.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruit/Interview/Test job applicants for salaried professionals while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Refers applicants to plant supervisors for interview and approval.  Assuring that properly qualified employees are hired and staffing is maintained to cover production requirements
  • Develops/implements employee new hire orientation training programs to assure maximum effectiveness.
  • Assists Continuous Improvement Manager and EHS Coordinator with preparation of and delivery of training courses, modules, etc. to ensure compliance with regulatory and IATF standards.
  • Recommends and participates in disciplinary and termination actions of Associates.   Attends required proceedings if necessary.  Keeps managers and supervisors informed of problems/issues that may jeopardize the overall achievement of company objectives and constructive plant communication.
  • Develops, maintains and administers associate training programs to assure maximum effectiveness of associates and compliance with TS standards. 
  • Conducts training needs analysis with all levels of plant organization and develops facility wide annual training plan.
  • Directs plant organization development activities with specific emphasis in working with Associates on professional development plans to prepare them for promotional opportunities
  • Accountability for implementation, execution, and monitoring of associate appraisal and performance evaluation programs.
  • Participates in developing department goals, support, production needs, coordinates employee relation programs and facilitate special projects.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • He/she is expected to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with all functional groups within the plant, corporation and business community. He/she is expected to work conscientiously and effectively, paying close attention to quality and detail. Individual must have experience with and be able to appropriately handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Individual must have above average computer proficiency including experience and training with office programs (word, excel, lotus notes etc.) as well as specific experience and training with payroll and human resources database systems. Must have experience with other office equipment (telephone, copier, scanner etc).
  • He/she must be able to perform multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities with frequent interruption. Must be results and people oriented, but have sound judgment with the ability to balance other business considerations. Must be service oriented, but assertive and persuasive. Must maintain a high energy level and a high concern for people with the ability to handle and manage stressful situations.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. He/she must maintain confidentiality as an essential qualification of this position.

He/she is also expected to work conscientiously and effectively, be detail oriented and have the ability to make sound judgments. He/she must be able to be assertive/ persuasive. He/she presents high energy level, along with high concern for people.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Management, or equivalent.  Three (3) to five (5) years in Human Resources-related activities. Labor Relations and Employment law classes and/or HR Generalist certificate required.  Proficient in MS Word and Excel required.
