Operations / Logisitcs Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to lead the day to day functions of this busy area..

Scope of Position:
To manage the duties in Operations Department including; Goods in/goods out, material handling and purchasing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coach and motivate other staff member to complete all daily tasks.
- Manage the receipt of supplier deliveries and update appropriate systems.
- Manage and raise Purchase orders for multiple divisions across the UK using in house software.
- Manage and process purchase order receipts accurately.
- Manage the receipt of part finished goods requiring further processes then obtain quotations from external suppliers, raise appropriate paperwork and arrange delivery.
- Arrange goods to be exported from our divisions, ensuring that the correct commercial documentation is produced including CPC/commodity codes and any relevant supporting documents.
- Organise and maintain imports for all sites in the UK, updating the Import log including any temporary imports that will then ultimately be re-exported outside of the EU.
- Coordinate our daily transport movement throughout the UK which involves collections and deliveries required by all UK divisions.
- Adhere to health and safety rules as applicable.
- Contribute to the attainment of departmental goals in the “President’s Message”.
- Participate in continuous improvement program.
- Adopt and practice Kaizen Principles and Concepts.
- Participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements:
- Higher education level or equivalent experience.
- Highly analytical and methodical approach.
- Self-motivated and disciplined in their approach.
- Extensive experience leading internal and external logistics functions within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in air-freighting, customs and exportation, importation and transportation companies
- Have previous knowledge of document control and goods-in and goods-out
- Able to work as part of a task oriented team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to handle multiple tasks competently and accurately

- Full time permanent position competitive pay rate depending on experience.
- Standard working week 08:00 – 17:00 but flexibility is required to work occasional evenings and weekends when projects dictate.
- 20 days holiday per year plus bank holidays. Plus 2 Multimatic days given to be taken between Christmas and New Year

- Previous experience of working in an automotive or motor racing would be an advantage
- Experience in a purchasing role would be advantageous
