Position Overview:

Multimatic DSSV Facility is one of the newest of Multimatic’s North American divisions. This new facility brings its race-winning DSSV™ damper technology to volume production.

This new facility is looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer that will report to the Plant Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining visual work instructions throughout plant.
  • Develop and implement changes in operational workflow as needed to improve and accelerate the flow of product through the facility.
  • Research, investigate and report manufacturing problems/concerns for improvement.
  • Implementing corrective actions to minimize process downtimes and rejects..
  • Participates in the engineering change (ecn) process by designing / updating Process Failure Mode Effects Analyses (PFMEAs) as needed, reviewing all operators instructions, ensuring assembly equipment readiness, packaging requirements are met, and all other Process Engineering tasks are completed on the ECN Checklist before the change effective date.
  • Maintain regular daily presence on the production floor and provides engineering support to assembly in areas of safety, ergonomic evaluations, methods improvement, procurement and fabrication of necessary equipment to improve/complete any required process additions and/or alterations, and responding to their concerns/suggestions..
  • Managing and organizing ECR/PDECR documents including FMEA, flowchart, etc.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Completion of a Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a related field or discipline, experience with highly machined components with tight tolerance requirements.
  • Previous experience in automotive manufacturing an asset.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing, processes, production reporting system and MRP.
  • Excellent problem solving techniques and methods.
