Position Overview:

Multimatic Indiana - Butler manufactures fully engineered, high-quality components, assemblies and systems such as bumpers and chassis/body structural components for high-volume as well as niche vehicle manufacturers. Multimatic Indiana - Butler uses advanced, proprietary roll- and hot-form manufacturing processes.

Multimatic Indiana - Butler is looking for a Production Manager. This position is responsible for increasing the company’s profitability by providing quality products to customers, meeting production requirements, and maintaining a safe work place. This position will also be responsible for participating in and leading projects targeted towards improving cost, quality, delivery, and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Ensure all production staff and operators perform work requirements in a safe manner and take steps to ensure improvements to behaviors and hazard elimination take effect.
  • Recruits, retains, and manages subordinate personnel to ensure well qualified and motivated departments.
  • Evaluates production capabilities and takes steps to ensure plant operations team executes scheduled plan provided by the Materials Department
  • Review manpower requirements and appropriately staff plant operations with qualified operators and leads
  • Adhere to quality plan and policies across the plant ensuring that customer quality concerns are appropriately resolved to prevent failed containment situations, corrective actions of identified defects are followed, and compliance is achieved according to IATF standards.
  • Review monthly production expenditures in order to adhere to budget
  • Provide leadership to support, encourage, and lead staff in a Continuous Improvement mindset
  • Ensure suggestions and improvement ideas connected to GEAR(Group Efforts Achieving Results) program results occurs to raise Associate engagement.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews for department personnel minimum annually
  • Submits training needs to HR as determine from departmental needs and employee evaluations
  • Work in compliance with ISO 14001 / TS16949 standards
  • Report on Operation metrics on a daily basis.
  • Manages subordinate supervisors and professionals who manage and supervise hourly direct and indirect associates in the production area. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units. Also may directly supervise non-supervisory associates.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Familiar with TS16949/ISO14001, accident prevention, Work place inspection and measuring Equipment. OSHA
  • Capable of organizing and managing priorities, business equipment and problem solving techniques.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural organization and provide direction and leadership.
  • Familiarity with a MRP system in an automotive manufacturing environment.


A Bachelors’ degree (B.A.) or equivalent; five years related experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
