Position Overview:

Multimatic is a global enterprise supplying engineered components, systems and services to the automotive industry. Located in the Czech Republic, Multimatic Engineering Prague (MEP) is part of Multimatic’s Engineering Group. MEP provides advanced design solutions and, in cooperation with other company engineering centres, testing and prototyping services to Multimatic’s production divisions and to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s), niche vehicle manufacturers and motorsports organizations. Multimatic is an exciting manufacturer of automotive mechanisms, structures and suspension, including Formula 1 racing components. The company also manufactures the Ford GT supercar.

MEP is fully integrated into the company’s key engineering, testing and development capabilities, enabling rapid turnaround and tight cooperation between departments (vehicle systems engineering, production engineering, predictive methods, product testing and validation, composites, fabrication and prototyping).

The products developed at MEP range from low-volume components to high-performance road cars. Development of advanced lightweight structures, many utilizing carbon fibre, is a daily business. We work on projects that you might have only dreamed about.

The growing demand for engineering activities has resulted in the need for additional Structures / Analysis Engineers.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and evaluate models for components, assemblies and full vehicles. This will involve constructing FEA models, performing simulations, reviewing requirements, engineering calculations, and recommending design improvements. Provide results in both formal written reports and as presentations. Throughout the development process the Structures Engineer will have to work closely with other departments (Design, Prototype, Composites, Testing, etc.), suppliers, and OEM’s.

 Education, Experience, and Capabilities:

  • University degree in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, mechatronics, or automotive engineering)
  • Experience with an analysis of a variety of body and vehicle systems is an asset but not required
  • Knowledge of FEA tools (HyperWorks, Ansa, OptiStruct, Nastran, LS-Dyna) advantageous
  • High level of interest in automotive engineering
  • Teamwork skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English, German is an asset, expected to interact with other engineers, customers, and suppliers
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, valid passport and be prepared to travel internationally when required. Initial training in the UK.
