Position Overview:

Multimatic Indiana - Butler manufactures fully engineered, high-quality components, assemblies and systems such as bumpers and chassis/body structural components for high-volume as well as niche vehicle manufacturers. Multimatic Indiana - Butler uses advanced, proprietary roll- and hot-form manufacturing processes.

We want a team that is passionate about manufacturing with the latest technologies and materials such as UHSS, aluminum, hot forming and other composites. This facility provides steel structural components and assemblies to a wide variety of customers and global vehicle platforms. Our core competencies are roll forming, robotics, complex assemblies, MIG, laser welding, laser cutting, projection/spot welding, glue/adhesive application, value-added stamping, and ACCRA technology (similar to hot stamping).

Multimatic Indiana – Butler is seeking a Maintenance Manager to manage/direct, plan and implement all skilled trade activity in order to optimize production of plant equipment involving cost control, safety, product quality as per legislative, environmental and company requirements within an automotive environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES       

  • Institute, review and rationalize all PMs and improve programs to reduce downtime and improve overall maintenance costs
  • Manage a multi-technical team among multiple shifts and ensure open and effective communication within the department, all other departments, external contractors, and vendors
  • Manage and facilitate corrective action and continuous improvement teams.
  • Responsible for the daily approval of associate timecards and accurate completion of all attendance paperwork
  • Experience with PLC, Robotics and a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Assess, develop and institutionalize associate training needs to improve skills through internal coaching, training and/or external training
  • Effectively manage/direct all department associates; assess performance and provide evaluations, administer discipline, oversee vacation, overtime and all other department/plant programs and activities in compliance with established company procedures/policy, following all applicable provisions of federal and state labor laws and guidelines
  • Schedule and ensure timely completion of all facility and equipment work orders
  • Coordinate weekly schedules to optimize skilled trade effectiveness when equipment is available
  • Plan, schedule and manage all shutdown-related activities
  • Establish and maintain a positive service-oriented atmosphere and timely repair of production equipment
  • Construct, maintain, and test equipment, machinery and components and ensure repair parts are readily available
  • Establish fiscal year budgetary needs; recommend capital improvements, justify and implement improvements
  • Drive productivity, safety and process improvement opportunities
  • Utilize instructions, manuals, pre-established guidelines and forms to perform the functions of the job and recommend opportunities for improvement to internal systems
  • QOS monthly reporting; identify performance gaps to established goals
  • Be flexible, capable and willing to provide assistance to tasks as General Manager deems necessary

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES

Manages all skilled trade employees; Tool and Die Repair, Maintenance and Repair and Automation Controls Technicians.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Four years' experience with applicable skilled trade and/or journeyman experience in a manufacturing environment. Technical certificate and/or associate degree, with a minimum of four years' supervisory/leadership experience. Lean manufacturing experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and customer or regulatory policies, procedures and specifications. The ability to write plant operating procedures and work instructions, routine reports, and correspondence. The ability to speak effectively before groups, customers and associates within the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamental spreadsheets.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.  Ability to analyze data and provide summaries and comparisons.

REASONING ABILITY

The ability to apply commonsense understanding and create instructions from technical data or statutes furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Interpret and apply policies and procedures to different situations that may arise.

Associate may be subject to temperature extremes for extended periods of time.
