Automotive Interior Fit and Finish Specialist

Position Overview:
Located in Markham, Ontario, Canada, Multimatic Technical Centre (MTC) is part of Multimatic’s Engineering Group. MTC provides advanced design, simulation, and prototyping services to Multimatic’s production divisions and to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), niche vehicle manufacturers, motorsports organizations, and consumer products companies.

Multimatic Technical Centre is seeking to recruit an elite Automotive Interior Fit and Finish Specialist who will be part of a core team working on the final assembly of the Ford GT supercar. Reporting to the Motorsports Manager and working within an exciting and dynamic vehicle development and engineering shop, you will be involved in the final inspection and detailing process to ensure that the interior of every Ford GT off the line meets meticulous manufacturing standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working in a safe manner, following safety procedures in an automotive assembly environment
  • Working with a small team to ensure any end-of-line flaws are identified and properly repaired
  • Adhering to build manuals and quality control processes
  • Assembling and fitting interior components to prototype and niche vehicles
  • Consulting on and resolving quality issues as they arise
  • Problem solving, as necessary
  • Must be organized and work in a safe manner, following safety procedures in an automotive assembly environment
  • Training is provided as required

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in high-quality automotive interior detail finish, and attention to detail is a must
  • Experience with automotive assembly/repair
  • Able to read and interpret drawings, follow build instructions
  • Comfortable using common hand tools and power tools
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment; meet tight deadlines
  • Day shift with schedule flexibility to accommodate occasional overtime and some weekend hours
  • Basic computer skills are required, familiarity with Microsoft Office is an asset
  • Experience in light fabrication is an asset
  • Experience in manufacturing environments in an asset
