Multimatic New Haven is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator for 2nd shift who will coordinate shipping and receiving for plant operations in a fast-paced environment requiring excellent communication skills, teamwork and the ability to organize and prioritize.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES       

  • Must be able to obtain a Multimatic forklift license and operate the forklift safely and efficiently
  • High forklift skill level. Must be able to drive and load in confined and/or tight spaces such the WIP/grocery store area, narrow aisles as well as semi-trailers, etc.
  • Must have automotive manufacturing experience
  • Must have supervisory experience; overseeing forklift operators and or material handlers
  • Must possess proven experience with shipping & receiving processes & procedures
  • Using the preferred shipping/receiving software will:
    • Prepare shipping documents (i.e.; BOLs, shippers, load sheets, etc.)
    • Prepare bar code labels for shipments and scan product(s) for verification of load against load sheet as required
    • Pull EDI releases daily. Interpret release information and communicate release information via appropriate methods such as spreadsheets, email, etc. for production and inventory control maintenance
    • Send ASNs to customers within customer’s acceptable time window
    • Process materials-received paperwork according to procedures

Must be able to:

    • Stage and load materials into trucks or rail cars either dropped or live loaded, sometimes without advance notice
    • Perform quality inspection of the parts as required
    • Obtain signatures from truck drivers as required
    • Safely receive and unload materials and or racks
    • Perform count and quality inspections and notify appropriate personnel as required
    • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on containers
    • Convey material from storage or work sites to designated area to support production, shipping and receiving
    • Clean work area, machines and equipment as required
    • Perform daily preventative maintenance checks and production inspection checks as required
    • Interact and communicate daily with other shift’s employees, supervisors and management to ensure that all shipping requirements are met
    • Manage time efficiently

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must possess proven experience with shipping & receiving process & procedures in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Must have 3 - 5 years of forklift driving experience
  • Must have 2 - 3 years of recent personal computer skills in a Windows environment, including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software
  • SAP experience is a huge plus
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate material handling equipment including stand up, sit down, 5000 lbs. forklifts
